Living opposite a breeding pen for pheasants can be entertaining though I gave up all notions of having a beautiful garden long ago due to them appearing in the border en-masse and setting about destroying anything that resembles a plant! So I thought, why not paint them. This is my first study after taking hundreds of photos and collecting feathers shed during their recreation. They are all unique and the males are particularly striking when the sun catches their colours. Hopefully the first of many before they all get shot :(
