Uplifting Art

My artist journey has taken me to many places, and I am currently exploring Lyrical Abstraction through a deep meditative approach to each painting. I am constantly seeking new ways to communicate my emotional response to my environment. No two works are the same and they often come from a different pace and follow a different process. It is a constant dance between spontaneity and practicality which can be magical and also frustrating but the challenge to communicate without words is my driving force. Colour is my passion and I use it to evoke a mood or emotion.

It is important to me to maintain an open mind in order to receive the wisdom of others and be receptive to inspiration from wherever and whenever it comes and this has lead to some wonderful experiences and joyful art making.

A finalist in BBC 1’s ‘The Big Painting Challenge’, collaborative art projects and exhibitions with some wonderful fellow artists, the Chairperson for the Association of Animal Artists, a finalist in The British Art Prize 2023, and many more!

The thread that runs through all of my work is my love and total respect for Nature, and the wonder of all living things.

My aim is to get you to see it all through my eyes and recognise that little part of you that comes alight when the light in the landscape suddenly changes, or the colour of a sunrise, the emergence of snowdrops after a cold winter and to see how we all fit into Natures big plan.

I also teach a foundation course locally and encourage adult learners to revisit their art practice through the exploration of different mediums and subjects.

I hope you enjoy my artwork. I probably have more stacked up in my studio waiting for a new home so please sign up to my newsletter where I give insights into my art practice and offer originals and Limited Editions on a first come first served basis.
